A Message from the Glen Acres Women's Division
The Ladies of Glen Acres Women’s Division would like to welcome you to the Glen. There are many exciting opportunities for women golfers here and we hope you will come and join us.
Our ladies meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Saturday afternoon for those who work and would prefer to play then. You may sign up to play in the pro shop one week in advance. We also have a “working girls” group which plays every Thursday night at 5:30PM. For those of you who can’t make it in the mornings this is a great time to get out and have some fun.
A variety of game competitions and lots of fun are happening each ladies day. In addition to weekly play there are four tournaments each year. The Captain’s Cup is match play and runs from May through September with one match a month. A Partners Triad is played in June or July. The Club Championship is played in August. And, our Memorial Tournament is in September.
Each month we have mixers that provide lots of fun and an opportunity to meet and play with new people and we also have a guest day each summer.
Glen Acres belongs to the Seattle Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) which provides us with an opportunity to meet and compete with golfers from 13 other SWGA courses in King County. Monthly sweeps are available to golfers with indexes of 27.0 or lower. The City Championship takes place each June at rotating SWGA courses and open to golfers with indexes of 27.0 or lower as well. Glen Acres also competes in SWGA team play each month for some great head to head matches with Seattle’s best.
Washington State Women’s Golf Association (WSWGA) is another organization to which Glen Acres belongs. The WSWGA sponsors a State Championship each July and a Seniors Championship as well. All of these tournaments provide wonderful opportunities to compete and meet great people.
